Welcome to Withington C of E Primary School
We invite all members of our community to take part in an important consultation about the future of Withington CEVA Primary School. The official consultation process has begun on 2nd September 2025, and we warmly welcome your views.
As many of you will be aware, the number of children on roll at our school has been a concern for some time. In September 2025, we had only 8 children enrolled. This has raised serious questions about the school’s ability to:
- Continue delivering a high-quality education experience;
- Support the personal and social development of our pupils with such low numbers;
- Remain financially sustainable in the long term.
Because of these concerns, the governing body, in partnership with Gloucestershire County Council and the Diocese of Gloucester, is launching a formal consultation process. This will be conducted in a way that is legal, transparent, inclusive, and fair, ensuring that all voices are heard and carefully considered before any decisions are made.
